Delta Expands International Flight Routes from Major U.S. Cities for Summer 2025

New Destinations for Summer 2024

As the summer travel season comes to a close, Delta Air Lines is encouraging travelers to start planning their summer vacations. The airline has announced it will be operating its largest trans-Atlantic flight schedule ever, debuting just in time for summer 2024. This includes the addition of new destinations such as Naples and the resurgence of service to Shannon, Ireland.

Expanded Flight Options

According to Delta, next summer it will operate 260 weekly flights to 18 countries across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Noteworthy changes include:

  • A new flight from JFK to Munich three times a week starting on April 9, 2024.
  • A daily nonstop flight to Shannon, Ireland, beginning on May 23, 2024.
  • A new daily service to Naples, expanding existing routes to Milan, Venice, and Rome.
  • The resumption of service between Atlanta and Zurich, Switzerland, offering four weekly flights.

Delta’s Expanded Operational Schedule

Delta’s growth plan highlights its commitment to enhancing passenger experiences. By expanding operational routes, Delta aims to provide travelers with more options for their international journeys.

Increases on Popular Routes

Delta will also increase service on popular routes, reinforcing its presence in key markets:

  • Atlanta to Paris
  • Boston to Athens
  • New York (JFK) to Barcelona

New Service to Auckland

Furthermore, Delta shared exciting news regarding its new service between Los Angeles and Auckland, New Zealand, which starts on Oct. 28. Due to strong demand, Delta plans to transition this route from seasonal to year-round service, reflecting the growing interest in travel to this vibrant destination.
