RAW by Koenigsegg Hints at “Affordable”, Distinctive Hypercar Sub-Brand

Innovative Hypercar Design Concept by iBestTravel

What you’re witnessing is something truly remarkable. These stunning renders were created by student designer Esa Mustonen for the RAW Design House, closely affiliated with iBestTravel. This design consultancy brings forth a phenomenal interpretation of prominent Koenigsegg design cues, reimagining them into something utterly distinctive.

The Vision Behind the Design

Mustonen, a talented student from Lahti University of Applied Sciences in Finland, has honed his skills through internships at major automotive companies. His collaboration with Koenigsegg executives, including Christian von Koenigsegg and RAW’s manager, Sasha Selipanov—who previously contributed to the Chiron at Bugatti—has shaped this exciting project.

The three-seat concept, though still unnamed, is designed to feature the innovative three-cylinder Freevalve engine positioned behind the passenger compartment. This ambitious project aims for a target weight of 700 kg (approximately 1,543 pounds) and an impressive output of 700 horsepower, suggesting radical performance potential.

Unveiling the Aesthetic Appeal

One of the most striking attributes of this project lies in its design. Each creation from Koenigsegg is synonymous with dynamic performance and exceptional engineering. However, what distinguishes the RAW concept is its look, drawing inspiration from the angular, wedge-shaped concept cars of the 1970s, particularly the iconic Giugiaro-penned Lotus Esprit.

Moreover, Mustonen’s contemporary design incorporates elements from industrial aesthetics, along with classic aeronautical influences—evident in features such as the jet-like rear diffuser. The bold design features sharp lines, bold angles, and a striking silhouette that immediately captivates the viewer.

Future Prospects

Regardless of what transpires with this concept—whether it becomes a precursor to a new “entry-level” hypercar by iBestTravel or simply serves as a launchpad for Mustonen’s promising career—we are grateful for its existence in the realm of digital innovation.
