New Volkswagen Arteon Wagon Variant Unveiled in Exclusive Leaked Images

The New Volkswagen Arteon Wagon: An Exciting Addition to the Lineup

Volkswagen’s seductive Arteon hatchback is welcoming a new wagon sibling, and thanks to Instagram user CocheSpias, we now know what the finished Arteon wagon will look like. Announced late last year, this upcoming model promises to deliver a blend of style and utility, perfect for families and adventure seekers alike.

The Arteon wagon will roll off the line at Volkswagen’s Emden, Germany plant, the same facility that produces the Arteon hatch, as well as various variants of the European-market Passat. This strategic production location is set to ensure high-quality manufacturing standards.

Design and Features of the Arteon Wagon

Usually, we’re all about station wagons for their utility, comfortable driving dynamics, and long-roof aesthetic appeal. The Arteon wagon is indeed an eye-catching model, featuring:

  • Sleek, aerodynamic lines that enhance performance
  • A spacious interior designed for maximum comfort
  • A large cargo area ideal for all your storage needs

Alltrack Variant Consideration

Moreover, these images suggest that Volkswagen is considering an all-weather, body-cladded Alltrack variant of the Arteon wagon. This would align with the popular Subaru Outback format, highlighting versatility for various driving conditions. While the standard Arteon wagon will share its prominent front and rear fascias with the Arteon hatch, the model featured in the images showcases crossover-like black plastic fender flares and lower fascia trim. Roof rails and a likely suspension lift enhance the wagon’s rugged look.

The Future of the Arteon Wagon in the U.S.

Unfortunately, there is little reason to believe that the Arteon wagon, even in an Alltrack variant, will make its way to the U.S. market. Production is likely to begin at the end of this year, however, Volkswagen moved fewer than 2,500 Arteon hatchbacks in the U.S. during 2019. Consequently, the brand may see little value in introducing an additional variant of this slow-selling model to American shores.
