01. Saborea Puerto Rico: A Culinary Extravaganza
Saborea is Puerto Rico’s premier food festival that takes place in May. This culinary extravaganza unites the island’s top chefs and famous international culinary personalities. In addition, you’ll experience both Caribbean and worldwide flavors presented by more than 30 restaurants. In addition to the amazing food selections, you can try various rums, wines, beers, and distilled spirits.
Saborea lasts over a weekend, and although it’s the most expensive food festival in Puerto Rico, it is also the largest, glitziest, and most anticipated culinary event of the year.
02. SoFo Culinary Festival

The SoFo Culinary Festival is a popular (and free) event named after South Fortaleza, a street and section of Old San Juan that features exceptional restaurants. Twice a year, generally in August and December, the streets close for this restaurant crawl, commandeering the neighborhood for four days. The event includes live entertainment by local musicians.
At SoFo, over 40 participating restaurants welcome guests; set up tables with representative tapas, dishes, and drinks; thereby inviting crowds to sample their offerings. Restaurants that have participated in the past include Parrot Club, Aguaviva, Toro Salao, Café Puerto Rico, and Pirilo Pizza Rústica.
03. Taste of Rum International Rum & Food Festival

Built around Puerto Rico’s national drink, Taste of Rum, presented by Rums of Puerto Rico, combines high-end rum tastings with food from the Caribbean and Latin America. This two-day event, held in March, typically features a delightful rum barbecue competition, art showcases, live DJs and bands, exhibits, and folkloric dances. Plus, the festival’s location on Paseo la Princesa is one of the most romantic and pleasant spots in Old San Juan.
A pass includes unlimited rum samples; privileges to all seminars, competitions, and entertainment; along with limited food samples.
04. Maricao Coffee Festival
