Mazda has been on a bit of a (horse)power kick lately. Recently, the brand unveiled the 2021 Mazda 3 hatchback and sedan featuring a new 2.5 Turbo trim with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The CX-30’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine generates an impressive 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque when using 93 octane gasoline. However, if a lower octane rating is used, power decreases to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, significantly outperforming the standard engine’s 186 horsepower. The enhanced power is transmitted to all four wheels via Mazda’s advanced i-Activ all-wheel-drive system. Though Mazda has yet to specify the transmission to be used in the CX-30, it is likely that it will feature the same six-speed automatic transmission that partners with this engine in other Mazda models.
Driving Experience and Comfort
