With Fall officially here, it’s time for Kansas Citians to visit one of the many pumpkin patches around the metro. Farms throughout Kansas City feature a plethora of pumpkins available for picking once autumn arrives. You can sort through piles of pumpkins or venture out to the patch to choose your own. Enjoy activities such as hayrides, corn mazes, and interacting with farm animals, making the most of the season.

Carolyn’s Country Cousins

Carolyn’s Country Cousins, a major pumpkin patch in Kansas City, offers a whole day’s worth of activities. With thousands of pumpkins, a 50-acre U-pick patch, a giant corn maze, Little Bud’s Railroad, a petting zoo, playground, and numerous ongoing activities, you won’t want to miss this autumn outing.

For decades, Weston Red Barn Farm has been a beloved destination for Kansas City residents. This educational farm features a variety of pumpkins, including unique types like Australian Blue and New England Cheese. Visitors can enjoy a tractor-drawn hayride, interact with farm animals, explore a corn maze, and shop at two country stores, both of which sell delightful RBF apple butter.

Visiting the family-owned Johnson Farms is an autumn delight, especially as you drive down Holmes Road with the trees in vibrant colors. The farm offers over 30 acres of fun, including the option to pick your own pumpkins or purchase pre-picked ones from their large pumpkin shed. Kids can enjoy attractions like the Giant Tunnel Crawl, tractor-pulled wagon rides, a farm animal corral, a jumping pillow (additional jumps may require tickets), pig races, and access to 60 acres of U-pick fall produce, including pumpkins, gourds, and squash.

This charming family-operated farm may not be flashy, but it offers a warm and inviting pumpkin patch experience. You’ll find rows of stunning mums, a diverse selection of pumpkins and gourds, and a welcoming barn filled with delightful treats. Additionally, there are adorable, kid-friendly kittens that will warm your heart (and some are even given away for free on Halloween!).
