Best Residential Holiday Light Displays in Little Rock, AR

Holiday lights may not shine as brightly as they once did, with neighborhoods adorning their streets less frequently. The glorious Jennings Osborne Cantrell lights that captivated many are now a thing of the past. The vibrant displays around the old University mall also seem diminished. However, the magical allure of Christmas lights continues to enthrall children and families alike, enhancing the joy of the holiday season. Fortunately, some neighborhoods are rejuvenating this delightful tradition of holiday decor.

1. North Hills in North Little Rock

Driving along North Hills Boulevard offers a spectacular light show, but venturing into the surrounding neighborhoods reveals even more. Even the golf course (The Greens of North Hills) is festively decorated. While exploring the area, look for a house drenched in colorful lights on Old Forge and a multitude showcasing charming characters and whimsical inflatables. Moreover, the lakes of Lakewood and the vicinity of the Old Mill boast beautifully adorned homes as well.

2. Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley, located near Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock, typically has houses adorned with delightful decorations. The sizable homes showcase various inflatable Christmas ornaments alongside cheerful light displays. While a few homes stand out with their grand displays, most residences exhibit at least some twinkling lights and festive embellishments.

3. 12th Street / University

This area may not be as ostentatious as it once was, yet certain neighborhoods continue to keep the holiday spirit alive. Notably, the best spots are nearby 12th street, particularly the area opposite the YWCA on Cleveland Street, where entire blocks participate in the festive cheer. Though these houses might be smaller, they radiate an enormous holiday spirit.

4. The Heights/Hillcrest

Driving through the neighborhoods around Cantrell and Kavanaugh reveals homes that are meticulously decorated. A standout is a home on Pierce Street known for its exceptional holiday display that captures the festive spirit.

5. Edgewater in Maumelle

While the displays in Edgewater are modest, the sheer quantity makes this neighborhood around Lake Wilastein Park a delightful excursion. Consequently, driving through the various streets in Edgewater is sure to bring you joyful holiday vibes. The Country Club area of Maumelle is also worth exploring for its festive decorations.

6. Finney’s Christmas Wonderland – Crossett

This enchanting light display, located about a two and a half hour drive from Little Rock, is well worth the journey. The Finney’s Christmas Wonderland is an extensive private display that takes approximately 10-15 minutes to drive through. Given that the Finney’s won the Great Christmas Light Fight last year, it’s no wonder that visitors often wish to experience it more than once. Therefore, consider taking a day trip and bringing the kids along for some holiday fun!

7. Public Light Displays

If the aforementioned homes do not satisfy your desire for festive lights, consider visiting public light displays. Many, such as the state capitol, offer free admission. Additionally, the Promenade at Chenal features breathtaking Christmas lights without an entry fee. However, a few displays, like Garvan Gardens, do charge admission. Nevertheless, light enthusiasts deem these displays worth the price.
