Ghouls & Gourds at BK Botanic Garden
Prepare for a delightful experience at one of New York City’s most vibrant Halloween celebrations! Bring your costume, instrument, and playful spirit to engage in an array of activities, including performances by acclaimed musical groups and hands-on workshops for crafting masks and puppets. A thrilling costume parade and an exciting drum circle conclude the afternoon festivities.

Children’s Coney Island Halloween Parade
Join the fun at the annual Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade and costume contest, where kids are welcome to dress up. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and pre-registration is required here. This event is open to children aged up to 15 years. Children’s Halloween Parade & Party – Greenpoint
The parade is free to attend, while the after-party costs $10. Organized by the community group Town Square since 2003, kids will march down Manhattan Avenue past Nassau Street and return to the Polish & Slavic Center. The indoor party features a variety of arts and crafts, food, and games to enjoy!
Great PUPkin Dog Costume Contest (Ft. Greene Park)
Head over to Fort Greene Park for this lighthearted and entertaining animal and owner dress-up contest. Registration opens at 11 AM by the monument plaza with the contest held at the base of the monument stairs. A suggested donation of $5.00 per dog is appreciated.
Greenpoint Kids’ Halloween Parade
- What: A Children’s Parade, inviting parents, with a $10 per person party afterwards.
- Where: The parade begins at 176 Java Street, routing via Manhattan Avenue to Nassau and returning to Java.
- After party: An indoor movie party follows at the Polish & Slavic Center organized by the nonprofit Town Square.
Carroll Park Halloween Parade
Gather at Carroll Park to prepare for the parade, which travels up Smith Street to Douglass St. and circles back down Court Street. Meet with friends and family for a fun-filled community event!
Sun Oct. 26, 2014: Howl-o-Ween Dog Costume Parade-Contest (Brooklyn Heights)
Participants gather by the Brooklyn Heights Promenade’s Remsen Street entrance at 12:45 PM. At 1 PM, they will march to the costume judging table to showcase their furry friends’ outfits. Local celebrity judges will select winners in various costume categories.

Halloween Event in Owls Head Park (Bay Ridge)
Although it’s not a parade, this popular haunted walk features varying levels of spookiness suitable for younger and older kids. For those who prefer gentler fun, there’s a Fairytale Forest tour that is enjoyable without being frightening.

Fri Oct 31, 2014: Cobble Hill Halloween Parade
Join the Cobble Hill Halloween Parade at 4:00 PM. Participants should meet at the Clinton Street entrance to Cobble Hill Park. The parade winds through Verandah, onto Henry, then left onto Warren, and back to the park. Volunteers are always welcome before and after the parade.
Greenpoint Witches Walk & Halloween Parade
Watch as kids in costume take over parts of trendy Williamsburg!
The parade starts at 4 PM, rain or shine, at Flying Squirrel’s store, located at 87 Oak Street near Franklin Street, and lasts for one hour, making three stops for trick or treating.
After the parade, families can enjoy crafts and goodies, with snacks provided by the new Two Boots Pizza on Driggs Ave.

- Where: Starts at Glenwood and Rugby Rds at 6 PM, parading down historic, lovely, and delightfully spooky Glenwood Road off Rugby to Westminster Road. Perfect for little ones who may be overwhelmed by larger parades.
Brooklyn Heights Halloween Parade
Experience a charming local parade in an idyllic setting with views of New York Harbor. Organized by the Brooklyn Heights Playground Committee, don’t miss the chance to enjoy the bake sale. In the event of rain, the parade will be held on Sunday the 27th.
Fulton Park Parade & Halloween Haunted ‘House Tour’
