The NYC Ferry serves as an excellent mode of transportation to South Brooklyn or Manhattan, particularly when the weather is nice. At the entrance to the Brooklyn Flea / Smorgasburg, you’ll notice four large black columns positioned in the river, marked for the East River Ferry. Simply queue up here—one-way tickets are only $2.75. These tickets can take you to various locations, including South Williamsburg, Dumbo, Red Hook, Wall Street, 34th Street, and Governor’s Island (on weekends), before returning to Greenpoint and then back to Williamsburg. For the best views, stand on deck and enjoy the sights of the city and Brooklyn while breezing along the water; just be sure to hold on tight as the ferry moves surprisingly quickly!
