John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), the largest of NYC’s three airports, is located in the borough of Queens. Providing gates for more than 70 airlines, it serves as a hub for American Airlines and Delta, as well as a home base for JetBlue. Opened as New York International Airport in 1948, it was renamed to honor the assassinated president in 1963. JFK is currently undergoing a multi-terminal redevelopment project that adds modern lounges and various amenities to Terminals 8 and 4.
Experience the Retro Charm of Terminal 5
Travelers can experience a taste of JFK’s midcentury heritage at Terminal 5’s TWA Hotel, which occupies the former Trans World Airlines Flight Center. This location is a prime example of space-age futurism, designed by the renowned Finnish architect Eero Saarinen.
