Summary
Golf in Queens has grown in popularity since four local golf courses were refurbished in the early 2000s. Forest Park, Clearview Park, Douglaston, and Kissena Park are public golf courses owned by New York City and managed by the American Golf Corporation.
Additionally, there is a driving range at Alley Pond Park (Douglaston), along with a pitch-and-putt course at Breezy Point and a combination pitch-and-putt plus mini-golf in Flushing Meadows Park.
Forest Park Golf Course
The Forest Park Golf Course is located on the western edge of Forest Park, just off the Jackie Robinson Parkway. The 18-hole, 6,053-yard course is regarded as one of the best golf courses in New York City.

By Car: Take the Jackie Robinson Parkway to exit 4, which is Forest Park Drive.
By Subway:
- Take the J train to Forest Park, and walk north on Forest Parkway. It’s a half-mile to the course.
- Take the R or G train to Woodhaven Boulevard, board the Q29 bus to Myrtle Avenue, and walk south a half-mile on Forest Park Drive to the course.
By Bus:
- Take the B56 bus to Forest Parkway, and walk a half-mile north to the course.
- Take the B55 bus to 79th St, and walk south a half-mile on Forest Park Drive to the course.
Clearview Park Golf Course
The Clearview Park Golf Course is mostly flat with straight fairways. It’s conveniently located just south of the Throgs Neck Bridge. The 18-hole, 6,328-yard par-70 course is one of the busiest courses on the east coast.

By Car:
- Take Clearview Expressway to exit 7, which is Willets Point Boulevard. Turn left onto Willet Point Boulevard and left into the parking lot.
- Take Cross Island (south) to exit 33, and turn right into the parking lot.
- Take Cross Island (north) to exit 32, and turn left under the highway. Turn right on Bell/Willets Point, and continue under Clearview. Turn left into the parking lot.
- Parking: There’s a small free lot at the course (closer to Willets Point Boulevard). A larger lot charges, but free street parking is available on 202nd Street.
By Subway: Take the 7 train to Main St and then the Q16 bus to the course.
By Train: Take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to Bayside. Board the Q13 bus, and then the Q16 bus to the course.
By Bus: Take the Q16.
Douglaston Golf Course
The Douglaston Golf Course, a par-67 course, features five challenging par-3 holes. Located in eastern Queens, where the Cross Island, Long Island Expressway (LIE), and Grand Central converge, the course used to be the North Hills Country Club. It sits on the highest ground in Queens, offering views of the Manhattan skyline on a clear day. The course was renovated in 2004.

By Car:
- Take Grand Central Parkway to exit 24, which is Little Neck Parkway, and go north. Turn left on 61st Avenue, then left on Marathon Parkway and bear right at the fork. The parking lot is immediately on the right.
- Take the LIE to exit 32, which is Little Neck Parkway. Go westbound on the LIE access road (Horace Harding), and turn left onto Marathon Parkway. Bear right at the fork. The parking lot is immediately on the right.
- Parking: Parking is available at the golf course.
By Bus: Take the Q30.
Kissena Golf Course
The Kissena Golf Course is situated on the eastern side of Kissena Park. This short and hilly course is suitable for beginners and intermediate golfers.

By Car: Take the LIE to Utopia Parkway and exit 25. From the Horace Harding access road, turn north on Utopia. Turn left on Booth Memorial Avenue and continue one-and-a-half blocks. The golf course parking lot is on the right.
Parking: A small lot is available for a fee, but free street parking is also accessible on Booth Memorial.
By Bus: Take the Q65 bus, which connects to the 7 subway at Main Street.
Alley Pond Golf Center
The driving range and mini-golf at Alley Pond Golf Center are located at the base of Little Neck Bay, just off Northern Boulevard. The driving range is very popular, therefore, arriving early is recommended to avoid long waits on weekends. The mini-golf course is enjoyable, although it lacks the whimsical “windmills” often seen at many mini-golf venues.

- Car: Take Cross Island to the Northern Boulevard exit, and head east.
- Parking: A free parking lot is available at the driving range.
- Train: Take the LIRR to Douglaston. Walk south on 235th Street and turn right on Northern Boulevard.

Flushing Meadows Golf Center
Flushing Meadows features a par-3 pitch and putt golf course along with an 18-hole miniature golf course. Both courses are fully lighted for night play, with the par-3 course being the only one in New York City that is lighted.

- Subway: Take 7 to Willets Point/Shea Stadium and the LIRR to Willets Point. Walk south to the park and continue left to the pitch and putt.
- Bus: Take the Q48 to Roosevelt Avenue and walk south into the park.
Breezy Point, Jacob Riis Park
Jacob Riis Park, located in Breezy Point in the Rockaways, has a quality 18-hole, par-3 pitch and putt course. It is open all day, seven days a week.

- Car: Take Beach Channel Drive or Flatbush Avenue to Jacob Riis Park. Follow the signs to Jacob Riis parking, and take the first left to the parking lot. Head toward the smokestack, and park near the promenade. The golf course is on the right.
