Where to Eat and Drink in Virginia Beach
When discovering funky foodie cities in the United States, Virginia Beach may not be the first place that comes to mind. However, as we explored the area, we were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of dining options and delicious cuisine.
Over five days, we enthusiastically accepted the challenge to indulge in as much as possible, exploring various cafés, breweries, and bistros.

1. Terrapin
The culinary journey commenced on a high note at Terrapin. Located just a couple of blocks from our hotel, this vibrant restaurant was bustling even at 6:30 pm, filling its tables with patrons enjoying fresh seafood and expertly crafted cocktails.
Terrapin is an award-winning establishment helmed by Chef Rodney Einhorn, who brings NYC and Aspen experience to create an exceptional dining atmosphere.
The tasting menu featured the region’s famous oysters sourced from local waters, alongside delectable scallops and juicy sea bass.

2. Esoteric
Esoteric offered an unforgettable dining experience, highlighted by the biggest charcuterie board we’ve ever had. The unique venue in the ViBe Creative District features distinctive local craft brews on tap, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Among the tantalizing selections, fresh octopus stood out as a house specialty, and both the seafood and land-based dishes were crafted with the freshest local ingredients.

When visiting First Landing State Park, a stop at Bay Local Eatery is a must for breakfast. Known for its locally inspired dishes, this establishment offers generous portions and exceptional flavors.
