The Lord Nelson stands as a historic hotel in Halifax, built in 1928. While it offers a sense of grandeur reminiscent of other notable historic hotels, guests should be aware that the decor may feel a bit outdated, and the service may not meet expectations.

We parked at Keltic Lodge before hiking the Middle Head Trail and found ourselves wishing we had booked a night there. The resort features golf, exceptional dining, a spa, and remarkable views.

Starting our Nova Scotia journey at Oceanstone Seaside Resort, only 10 minutes from Peggy’s Cove, was incredible. The private cabins sit right on the shore, each with its own private beach, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs, perfect for enjoying morning coffee while watching the sunrise.
Each cabin is equipped with a kitchen, and the resort can provide snacks and breakfast ingredients or you may stock your own supplies.
With free Wi-Fi and an on-site restaurant, you have everything you need for a comfortable extended stay.

While our room felt fit for a noble at the turn of the century, modern conveniences such as a flat-screen TV, cozy duvet, and air conditioning contrasted the beautiful view of the harbor.

Yarmouth serves as the main port for those arriving from Maine, and it’s famous for the Cape Forchu Lighthouse, Nova Scotia’s second most visited attraction, with plenty to keep you busy for a day or two.

Our stay featured a lavishly spacious room with a bed big enough to require a step stool, and the ambiance was so inviting that we opted for room service to enjoy a glass of wine in the sitting area.
Advocate Harbour Near Three Sisters
Driftwood Park Retreat offers waterfront chalets with stunning views from private balconies, making it an excellent launchpad for hiking Cape Chignecto trails, as well as proximity to Cape Dor.
River Runners Cottages
For those interested in tidal bore rafting, we highly recommend staying at River Runners, operated by the zodiac tour providers. The property features lovely private cottages with woodstoves, barbecues, and spacious two-story suites equipped with Wi-Fi.

While journeying along the lighthouse route to Liverpool, known for its historical significance including the original Privateers and the historic Fort Point Lighthouse, Lane’s Privateer Inn is the perfect accommodation choice.

This family-run Nova Scotia accommodation exudes East Coast hospitality. As you check in, you instantly feel at home. The newly renovated rooms are inviting and comfortable, and the dining area adds to its charm.
The atmosphere embraces a casual English-style pub, yet the cuisine leans towards fine dining, showcasing dishes crafted from fresh local ingredients. It quickly became our favorite meal of the entire trip, which speaks volumes considering the caliber of dining we experienced in Nova Scotia.
They also offer canoes for leisurely paddling on the river, and a variety of excursions like kayaking or paddleboarding can be arranged. If you find yourself in southern Nova Scotia, Lane’s Privateer Inn is a must-visit.
