Most people head straight to Patong; however, the island is vast, with many other places to visit and activities to enjoy. So, let’s start exploring all the best things to do in Phuket on your next trip to Thailand.

1. Explore Phang-Nga Bay by Sea Canoe

One of the most memorable things to do in Phuket is to join a Hongs by Starlight tour with John Gray Sea Canoe. John Gray himself discovered the hongs of Thailand, and this tour takes you inside the hidden lagoons and sea caves found back in 1989.

Phang Nga Bay is one of the most beautiful places in Thailand, surrounded by stunning Karst islands and the calm, protected waters of Ao Phang Nga National Park.

2. Hongs by Starlight

This tour is enchanting because after paddling through sea caves into high cliff lagoons, you can enjoy an afternoon basking in the sun while creating your own Kratongs (floating flower arrangement) to set sail after dark.

To escape the tropical heat, head indoors to one of Phuket’s shopping malls. Jungceylon Shopping Mall is the largest, featuring 200 shops and Cinema City. We love catching a matinee when visiting Thailand; just remember to stand for the king when the national anthem plays before the show.

The most visited attraction within the park is the Ton Chung Fa Waterfall, a five-tiered waterfall accessible via a 2.5 km trail, perfect for swimming. When is the Best Time to Visit Phuket

The optimal time to visit Phuket coincides with the dry and cool season, which typically lasts from November through April. During these months, expect clear skies, refreshing breezes, and lower humidity—ideal conditions for exploring picturesque beaches, partaking in water sports, and engaging in outdoor activities.
