After a 20-year absence, our return to Caye Caulker was driven by a passion for the island’s vibrant atmosphere and its assortment of exciting activities. This time, we were determined to immerse ourselves in the unique offerings of Caye Caulker beyond our regular diving expeditions. Arriving via a quick 10-minute flight from Belize City, we felt the thrill of revisiting iconic spots like Shark Ray Alley while also exploring new adventures, such as scenic flights over the Great Blue Hole. Our journey on this enchanting island promised incredible experiences!

The north side of Caye Caulker is evolving into a luxury haven, offering a more upscale experience compared to the bustling backpacker environment of the south. Our stay at El Ben Cabañas granted us convenient access to regular water taxis into Caye Caulker town. This tropical paradise featured air-conditioned rooms, private verandas, and two inviting pools.
El Ben also houses a fantastic restaurant worth the visit, even for those staying in Caye Caulker’s southern hotels. Travel is easy by taking their complimentary water taxi or by paying a nominal fee for the Split’s water taxi shuttle.
