Revelstoke is known for its exceptional skiing and snowboarding, but there are plenty of additional things to do in Revelstoke besides its world-class skiing. Therefore, when visiting British Columbia in winter, ensure you add Revelstoke to your itinerary.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort boasts North America’s longest vertical descent at 1713m (5,620 feet) and some of the best ski conditions in Canada, with an impressive average of 10.5 meters (34 feet) of powder each winter. The resort is surrounded by stunning scenery and offers a variety of food and cultural experiences that cater to all tastes.
Things to do in Revelstoke, BC
On our road trip from Vancouver , we finally had the chance to experience the glorious Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Situated between Vancouver in British Columbia and Calgary, Alberta, this resort does not attract as much attention as Whistler, BC or Lake Louise, Alberta which makes it incredibly special.
Revelstoke is a charming town located on the banks of the Columbia River, nestled between the Monashee Mountains and the Selkirk Mountains. It’s an outdoor lover’s paradise, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
1. Downhill Mountain Biking
If you have never tried downhill mountain biking, Revelstoke is the perfect place for it. A green (beginner) mountain biking trail is currently being built, so by next season, everyone can hit the trails. It offers a thrilling experience to ride the gondola with your bike and let gravity guide you down the mountain. Mountain bike rentals are directly available at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, with costs starting at $89 CAD for a half day (approx $72 USD).
We tackled the intermediate downhill trails and it was an exhilarating experience. The fast-paced ride down the berms and switchbacks offered stunning views and plenty of excitement.
2. Dune Buggy Adventures with Great Canadian
Experience one of the most exciting things to do in Revelstoke by embarking on a dune buggy adventure with Great Canadian Tours. This four-hour journey up and down steep, technical terrain unveils the most breathtaking views in all of Revelstoke.

Revelstoke is also known for its thriving microbrewery scene, and Mt. Begbie Brewery is the original one, established in 1996. Their multi-award-winning brews are renowned worldwide, largely due to the fresh mountain water used in production.

Axe throwing is a fun activity available at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, located at the base of the gondola. Professional guidance is on hand to help you hit the bullseye swiftly. It’s a unique experience that is both exhilarating and comedic!
8. Aerial Adventure Park
This is the ideal spot for those interested in high ropes courses. With a Play All Day Pass, you can navigate through the Aerial Adventure Park’s obstacles while enjoying the panoramic views. Make sure to try the freefall at the end for an exciting thrill.
