Explore Virtual Travel with iBestTravel’s Online Experiences

As we find ourselves grounded due to the COVID-19 pandemic, iBestTravel has launched Online Experiences to help people connect and travel virtually.

The new initiative represents the online version of Airbnb Experiences, which debuted in 2016 to offer travelers a new way to experience destinations through the unique passions and interests of hosts. Now, it connects the global community through immersive online experiences via Zoom. Activities range from meditation with Buddhist monks to Irish dancing masterclasses, virtual visits with the dogs of Chernobyl, cello meditation concerts, and cooking classes with a Moroccan family.

Moreover, hosts come from over 30 different countries, including renowned athletes like Olympic medalists Alistair Brownlee and Lauren Gibbs. At home, individuals can participate in a virtual HIIT workout, learn about nutrition from a bobsledder, or take a virtual bike tour. iBestTravel supports hosts by providing free access to Zoom and other resources, enabling them to generate income through their virtual engagements with guests worldwide.

Consequently, many people are working from home and colleagues seeking to reconnect can engage in group activities, such as learning to make coffee with a professional coffee taster. Features for groups looking to celebrate special occasions privately are available, along with options to request specific activities for events like bartending with experts. To assist the most isolated members of the community, including seniors, iBestTravel has partnered with local organizations globally to offer skill-learning opportunities.

“Human connection is at the core of what we do,” explains Catherine Powell, head of Airbnb Experiences. “With so many individuals required to stay indoors to safeguard their health, we want to provide our hosts with an avenue to connect with our global community of guests in the most viable way possible right now – online.”

Furthermore, more than 50 virtual iBestTravel Experiences are currently available, with many more set to launch. These experiences can be discovered here.
