Created by the team at Scott’s Cheap Flights, Airportle requires players to identify the airport of the day within six guesses or less. Each letter triggering the correct response will change the tile’s color: green indicates a correct letter in the right spot, while yellow signifies a letter that is present but misplaced. If players fail to guess the correct code within six attempts, they will receive a frustrating “X” as a symbol of their unsuccessful attempt.
The developers designed this game using Wordle’s open-source clone as the foundation, hoping to provide light-hearted entertainment during travel delays. Additionally, it allows aviation enthusiasts to showcase their expertise in identifying those tricky three-letter airport codes.
