Fortunately, biometric identity verification service Clear launched its Reserve lane in 2021. Reserve, which debuted at Orlando Airport, allows passengers without a Clear membership to schedule their spot in a designated security line ahead of time.
“Reserve is a free service only available at select airports and requires advance scheduling. It provides a more predictable experience than standard airport security; however, it still mandates that travelers present their ID to a TSA officer for verification,” Clear explains on their website.
To utilize the Reserve lane, passengers may choose the day and time window they wish to reserve for standard security, displaying a QR code for appointment confirmation. The service allows for a 20-minute window, consequently accommodating travelers who may miss their designated appointment time, according to Clear’s website.

There are currently 19 airports around the world participating in this innovative service, including Denver International Airport, which recently began testing the program this week.
