AutoCamp, the hospitality brand with glamping properties across the U.S. — from California’s Yosemite National Park to New York’s Catskills — opened its first Southwest outpost on May 1, offering travelers easy access to Zion National Park in Utah.
Unique Accommodations
Boasting 16 acres along the banks of the Virgin River, AutoCamp Zion welcomes guests with a range of unique accommodations, a sprawling communal Clubhouse, a restaurant, a pool, and various wellness classes, tours, and experiences.
Travelers can stay in one of 72 custom, 31-foot Airstreams featuring a queen-size bed, a walk-in shower bathroom with Ursa Major toiletries, a kitchenette, air conditioning, and a private patio. Families may opt for a “Basecamp,” which includes an Airstream and a spacious canvas tent with a king-size bed to accommodate up to six people. Nine cabins equipped with flat-screen TVs, living rooms, and fully stocked kitchenettes, along with five ADA suites, are also available.
Facilities and Activities
Similar to other AutoCamp locations, the Clubhouse serves as a social hub at its Zion outpost as well. Featuring oversized windows that reveal Utah’s striking red rocks, the midcentury modern-inspired space includes meeting rooms, a restaurant, lounge areas, and a general store.
“The rich, red earth in Southern Utah is so striking. Rather than pulling those tones into the interior, we chose to accentuate the surrounding landscape by keeping the palette fairly neutral,” stated Shannon Niehenke, founder of Narrative Design Studio and designer of the space.
The Kitchen, AutoCamp Zion’s all-day eatery, is set to open in June with a menu that features healthy, vegan, and gluten-free options alongside camp classics such as burgers, pizza, and breakfast sandwiches. Additionally, guests can enjoy local beer, wine, and snacks at the general store, where they can also find items to prepare meals inside their Airstreams.
Visitors will have access to a communal fire pit and a pool. For the more adventurous, options include mountain or e-biking tours or climbing experiences. Wellness enthusiasts can engage in on-site yoga and meditation classes.
Nightly rates at AutoCamp Zion start at $299, and for each stay, AutoCamp contributes $1 to the Zion Forever Project. To uncover more about this glamping experience, view details on autocamp.com.
