The Thanksgiving Day race takes place at Kit Carson Park in Albuquerque, close to the Botanic Gardens. Experience this event while exploring one of the city’s most picturesque areas along the bosque trail. Starting at 8 a.m. on Tingley Drive, runners will head towards Central and then progress along the bosque trail. This flat and fast course leads participants through a historic section of Albuquerque. Gift cards to Sports Systems will be awarded to the top runners, and age group awards will also be provided. Proceeds from the race benefit the Salvation Army, which welcomes cash and food donations.

18th Annual Turkey Trek
The Turkey Trek features a 5K run, fitness walk, and a kids’ 1K fun run. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and prizes will be awarded for the best turkey-themed attire among males, females, and children. The race includes awards of $250 for the overall male and female winners, and medals for the top three finishers in each age category. Additionally, the first-place team will receive a plaque. Each entry includes a t-shirt, free massage, Starbucks coffee, post-race refreshments, and various coupons. This event benefits The Barrett Foundation, which operates a shelter for women and children. Early registration concludes on November 15, with late registration available until November 20. Day-of registration costs $50.
