With remote work becoming increasingly prevalent due to the pandemic, it’s now feasible for individuals in certain professions to be based almost anywhere. Consequently, those who wish for a change of scenery may consider applying to live and work on the idyllic Caribbean island of .

Anguilla is renowned for its stunning 33 white-sand beaches and vibrant coral reefs. Visitors who obtain the visa can indulge in various activities such as:

Application Process and Requirements

The British Overseas Territory is currently accepting online applications for remote workers wishing to stay from three months to a year on Anguilla. Applicants must arrive on the island no later than October 31. Those planning to arrive from November 1 can apply at the end of September.

The cost breakdown is as follows:

  • $2000 (€1694) per person for stays up to a year
  • $3000 for families of up to four, with an additional $250 for each extra family member
  • $1000 (€847) for individuals wishing to stay less than three months
  • $1500 (€1271) for families of four for shorter stays plus $250 (€212) for each additional family member

At the moment, Anguilla is prioritizing applicants from “low-risk” countries, where the prevalence of COVID-19 is less than 0.2% of the population.

Health and Safety Measures

Anguilla has reported only three positive coronavirus cases and no deaths during the pandemic, leading the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to classify it as having a “very low” COVID-19 risk. Visitors are required to:

  • Provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test conducted within three to five days prior to arrival
  • Undergo a mandatory test and health screening upon arrival
  • Remain quarantined at an approved location for at least ten days
  • Obtain a negative PCR COVID-19 test to be released from quarantine

The Hon. Quincia Gumbs-Marie, parliamentary secretary for tourism, states, “Anguilla is currently COVID-19 free, so our objective has always been to reopen in a prudent way, taking every precaution to protect the health and safety of our residents and our guests.”
