Welcome to Mexico City! Upon arrival at Mexico City International Airport (MEX), you can make your way to our first hotel of the trip. Depending on your arrival time, you should have ample opportunity to relax before we gather for an introduction with our Local Insider. Dinner will be at the iconic Cafe de Tacuba, renowned for its traditional cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. We recommend concluding your meal with a delightful cup of Mexican hot chocolate.

Mexico City is one of the world’s most vibrant metropolitan areas. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then embark on a walking tour of significant sites, including the Zócalo square and the Metropolitan Cathedral. You’ll receive invaluable cultural insights before visiting Chapultepec Park, which features well-maintained gardens and a historic castle. Lunch will be had at Mercado San Juan, a bustling market filled with fresh produce and street food. Today, we leave Mexico City for the beautiful colonial city of Queretaro. Our first stop is the remarkable pyramid complex of Teotihuacán. This ancient city, a UNESCO World Heritage site, presents a fascinating glimpse into Mesoamerican civilization. Following our exploration, we’ll continue to Tula, where we’ll visit the ancient Toltec capital, with its impressive Temple of Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli. We should arrive in Queretaro by late afternoon, allowing you to enjoy the evening at your leisure—perhaps a stroll around the beautiful city center.

Today, we’ll embark on a guided walking tour of Querétaro, a city known for its splendid Spanish colonial architecture and historical significance in Mexican independence. Afterward, we’ll explore the local art scene at Fabrica Aurora, followed by a visit to Mercado de Artesanías for handicrafts. A late afternoon tour will then highlight the beauty of San Miguel de Allende.

A visit to Cuna de Tierra vineyard will follow, where you’ll enjoy a tour and tasting session before we finally head to Guanajuato, where you’ll check into the hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
