iBestTravel’s Chef’s World Series: A Taste of Bermuda
To kick off 2023, iBestTravel hosted the first Chef’s World Series event of the year. These dinners showcase the most exciting culinary talent, giving guests the chance to taste exclusive flavors from around the world, right in London. Whether it’s a private tasting or a sit-down dinner, every event is bespoke, providing a unique insight into a particular destination.
Exclusive Culinary Experience with Chef Richard Zuill
In March, guests were treated to an exclusive taste of Bermuda, thanks to Chef Richard Zuill’s special one-night event in London. Since 2018, Chef Zuill has elevated the cuisine at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, drawing inspiration from his training in Austin, Texas. His culinary offerings range from imaginative beachside barbecues to the perfect fish chowder and scone-like Caribbean Johnny bread, reflecting a varied and successful career.
Immersive Tropical Ambiance
The evening celebrated Bermuda’s best-kept culinary secrets, transforming the venue with vibrant florals by Hayford and Rhodes to create a slice of Bermuda in Hoxton Holborn.
Welcomed by the team at Hoxton, guests enjoyed a potent take on Rum Swizzles, the national drink of Bermuda, made with locally produced Gosling’s rum, paired with moorish mac and cheese balls. Once seated, Chef Zuill introduced the evening’s delicacies, starting with Bermudian fish chowder—a tomato-based dish enhanced with a shot of Gosling’s Black Seal Rum and served alongside Johnny Bread, a slightly sweet, scone-like bake.
Highlight of the Evening
The highlight of the evening was the spectacular main course of lobster with tiger shrimp, presented in a rich Gosling’s Black Seal rum broth. To conclude the meal in true Bermudian style, guests indulged in a delicious rum cake.
