Crumbling old homes have been transformed into beautiful new bars and restaurants. Moreover, Container Bar, which is made from carefully arranged shipping containers, adds a unique touch to the area. All in all, the district is highly walkable and ideal for revelers who prefer spontaneous outings.

As the district’s popularity has increased, high-rise hotels have emerged nearby, leading to significant construction activity. Consequently, parking availability has been strained, but the hotels are mandated to provide public parking spaces, so new parking garages should be available soon.

Built from repurposed freight containers, the Container Bar was the first bar to break the mold of old houses on Rainey Street. The seven containers are stacked to create a second floor with intimate rooms. Although each space is small, they surround a large central courtyard, fostering a unique atmosphere. In addition to providing a one-of-a-kind experience, the design showcases excellent adaptive reuse.

Offering an ever-changing menu of artisanal drinks such as the Peach Smash, Bungalow sets itself apart with a laid-back vibe and friendly bartenders. During summertime, the adult snow cones are a must-try. Additionally, the venue boasts a large outdoor area with various games, making it a social hotspot.

3. Craft Pride

Serving exclusively Texas-made beers, Craft Pride caters to Lone Star beer enthusiasts. After enjoying a few pints, visit the VIA Pizza truck at the back for one of the best pizzas in town, known for its Detroit-style preparation.
