Location and Accessibility
Located approximately a three-hour drive from Reykjavik, Highland Base – Kerlingarfjöll is only reachable via a 4×4 super jeep during the winter months, driven by a professional.

- The year-round Highlands Base Hotel with 46 rooms and two suites, each featuring a private terrace and many with geothermal hot tubs.

The sustainably developed structures were designed by Blue Lagoon Iceland’s in-house team along with Basalt Architects and Design Group Italia. Visitors will enjoy a range of year-round activities including:

- Winter activities such as snowshoeing, backcountry and cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.
Additionally, the 80-seat Highland Base Restaurant and Lounge offers guests a chance to refuel with traditional Icelandic dishes like vöfflur (waffles with cream). Guests can also unwind at the Highland Base Bath, a geothermal hot spring designed for relaxation after a day of adventures.
