Unlock Benefits of Capital One’s Premier Collection Hotel Program

Capital One’s “Premier Collection” hotel program is live for Venture X cardholders, offering perks such as $100 experience credits, complimentary daily breakfast, and more.

Late last year, Capital One announced a new program: a selection of partner hotels bookable with Capital One miles, dubbed “Premier Collection.” Now, as of February 2023, the program is live and accessible to select Capital One cardholders.

Those holding a premium Capital One card can book highly sought-after hotels — such as The Roundtree, Amagansett in New York’s Hamptons, or The Madrona in Healdsburg, California — while enjoying benefits like complimentary breakfast, a $100 “experience credit,” and upgrades based on availability.

We explored the Premier Collection, and here’s everything you need to know about how to leverage the latest offering from Capital One Travel.

What is the Capital One Premier Collection?

The Capital One Premier Collection is a luxury hotel program offering premium benefits at partner hotels, including daily breakfast for two, bonus miles on paid reservations, and the option to redeem Capital One miles for your stay. Reservations must be made through Capital One Travel.

This exclusive program is available to premium credit cardholders of Capital One, specifically those with the Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card or Capital One Venture X Business card.

Competitors such as Chase’s Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection or American Express’ Fine Hotels + Resorts also offer similar programs. However, Capital One stands out due to its exclusive partnerships with highly coveted hotels.

Capital One Premier Collection’s Hotel Partners

Capital One has clearly focused on quality over quantity in selecting hotels for the Premier Collection. The collection features exceptional brands like 1 Hotels, Six Senses, Proper Hotels, and properties from established hotel portfolios like Small Luxury Hotels and The Leading Hotels of the World.

Matt Knise, managing vice president and head of Capital One Travel, stated, “We focused on finding the places that our customers sought out — destinations in and of themselves, which have a certain cool factor.”

The following properties are exclusive to Capital One:

  • The Ned NoMad in New York City
  • The Roundtree, Amagansett in the Hamptons, New York
  • The Madrona in Healdsburg, California
  • La Casa Que Canta in Mexico
  • Rock House in Turks and Caicos
  • Hotel Three Sixty in Costa Rica
  • The One Palácio da Anunciada in Portugal
  • Hotel TwentySeven in the Netherlands
  • The Plettenberg Hotel in South Africa
  • Como Uma Canggu in Bali
  • The Carlin Hotel in New Zealand

Other Important Capital One Premier Collection Perks

Travelers enjoy an array of premium benefits, which includes a $100 experience credit (or the local equivalent) applicable toward dining, spa services, and other activities during their stay; daily breakfast for two; complimentary Wi-Fi; and additional perks such as early check-in, late checkout, and room upgrades when available.

Knise emphasized that the Capital One experience credit is unique, stating, “All participating properties allow you to use the credit for food and beverage purchases.” In some instances, the credit can also be applied to other experiences (like spa treatments), although cardholders need to confirm with the hotel.

For instance, booking a night at The Ned NoMad in New York City would grant you $100 towards dinner at Cecconi’s, a classic Italian restaurant, or cocktails at the Little Ned, a 1920s-style bar.

Additionally, cardholders earn 10 miles for every dollar spent on their qualified purchases. According to Knise, “Even without joining a loyalty program, customers enjoy ten times the rewards while benefiting from other perks.”

How to Use Your Miles With the Premier Collection

When booking through Capital One Travel, cardholders can redeem their Capital One miles at a conversion rate of one cent per point. Consequently, a $1,000 hotel reservation at Rock House in Turks and Caicos, for example, will require 100,000 Capital One miles, or any combination of cash and miles.

For Knise, the Premier Collection and these booking options represent an effort to continuously add value throughout the travel experience.
