Carnival Jubilee’s Cruises Canceled
Carnival Cruise Line has canceled the first cruises of its newest ship due to shipyard delays. The cruise company, which is constructing its new Carnival Jubilee ship in Germany, was compelled to postpone its debut from October 2023 to early December 2023. This change was caused by shipyard delays and supply chain logistics, according to Carnival.
New Debut Date Announced
As a consequence of these delays, Carnival was forced to cancel the first six cruises on the new ship, including a transatlantic voyage from Southampton in the United Kingdom to Galveston, Texas. Consequently, the first cruise for Carnival Jubilee will now sail on December 23, 2023, from Galveston, Texas. Additionally, five Caribbean sailings from Galveston were also canceled. Guests affected by these cancellations will receive notification.
“This is disappointing news, but with the notification from the shipyard, we are advising our guests as quickly as we can,” said Christine Duffy, the president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We appreciate their understanding as we work to deliver another spectacular ship that will provide a vacation experience our guests deserve and will absolutely love.”
Exciting Features of Carnival Jubilee
The Carnival Jubilee, capable of transporting more than 5,400 guests, will be based out of Texas as an Excel-class ship. It will boast the company’s BOLT roller coaster on the top deck, innovative designs for suites and staterooms, and a three-deck atrium that overlooks the ocean, which will transform into an entertainment venue at night.
Future Sailings to Popular Destinations
The ship is expected to embark on seven-day western Caribbean cruises, stopping at popular destinations such as Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, as well as Roatan in Honduras. The Carnival Jubilee will represent the company’s third Excel-class ship, following the Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. Carnival’s Mardi Gras made its maiden voyage in August 2021 from Florida, and it became the first ship to feature a roller coaster at sea. This was followed by the Celebration, which set sail for the first time in November, according to the company.
