Delta Air Lines Announces New Routes for Summer 2024

While many travelers are planning fall getaways or holiday season travels, Delta Air Lines is looking ahead even further with new destinations for next summer’s travel season.

1. New Destinations Announced for Summer 2024

Announced on Friday, the airline will launch new service connecting virtually every corner of the United States starting on June 7, 2024. This includes daily flights from its main hub in Atlanta to Fresno and Santa Barbara in California. Additionally, a new service will commence on July 8, 2024, from Dallas to Seattle with two daily flights.

2. Expanded Services and Flights

Another exciting addition is the service from Atlanta and Los Angeles to Aspen, Colorado. This destination, described as a ‘top-requested destination by Delta’s customers’, will feature daily flights year-round from both hubs, with Atlanta offering twice-daily service during the popular winter ski season.

Moreover, the airline is also announcing the return of routes that had been previously abandoned, including the routes from Atlanta to Burbank and Oakland in California, as well as Reno, Nevada.

3. Increased Connectivity to Popular Attractions

Delta is also reinstating several flights including:

• Anchorage to Detroit
• Columbus, Ohio to Salt Lake City
• Santa Barbara to Salt Lake City
• Detroit to Sacramento

The new flight routes, which will connect travelers to popular attractions such as Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park, will be available for travelers to discover and explore. These routes will be accessible starting Saturday, September 16, 2023, for travel beginning in summer 2024, according to a release from the airline.

“By reopening service to Santa Barbara and delivering more ways to access sought-after destinations throughout the U.S. West, we’re more ready than ever to take our customers on their next great adventures – with the service, reliability, and convenience they’ve come to know and expect when flying Delta,” stated Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning.

The flight announcements come just days after Delta made significant changes to both their SkyMiles loyalty program and the access to the airline’s SkyClub lounges. The airline also announced that it has updated its in-flight food and beverage menu this week.
