Delta Airlines Expands Routes for Seamless Travel to South America

Delta Air Lines Expands Service to South America

1. Delta’s New Flights

Delta Air Lines is launching two new flights between the United States and South America, planning to fly non-stop to both Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. This significant move enhances travel options for those looking to explore the rich cultures and landscapes of these vibrant cities.

2. Seasonal Routes Details

The airline will kick off the new flights with direct service to the capital of Argentina from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on October 28, according to Delta. This route will be operated seasonally on a Boeing 767-400 aircraft, adding to Delta’s current offerings to Buenos Aires from its Atlanta hub.

Additionally, on December 16, Delta plans to add a new route from New York to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This route is in alignment with Delta’s collaboration with LATAM Airlines, which was approved last year. The new service from New York to Rio will also operate seasonally during the winter using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

3. Delta and LATAM Partnership

“Since implementing our Joint Venture, we have been diligently working alongside LATAM to introduce exciting new routes, thereby expanding opportunities for customers traveling between the U.S. and South America,” said Alex Antilla, Delta’s Vice President for Latin America. “Together, we’re offering New Yorkers the most flights and the best experience for travel between these two continents.”

Additionally, Delta currently provides service between São Paulo and both New York and Atlanta. LATAM complements this by offering service from São Paulo to New York, Boston, Orlando, and Miami, with plans to launch a new flight between São Paulo and Los Angeles this summer.

4. Expansion Beyond South America

Moreover, Delta is expanding its network beyond South America, planning to launch a direct flight from Los Angeles to New Zealand for the first time this fall while also increasing transatlantic service from its hubs in New York and Atlanta.

The carrier is committed to improving the onboard experience, which includes adding free Wi-Fi on most domestic mainline flights. Furthermore, they plan to introduce attractive offerings such as espresso martinis and a dessert cart to enhance the travel experience for all passengers.
