1. Delta SkyMiles Baggage Tip

2. How to Earn Bonus Miles

3. Important Details to Note

Looking to score more Delta SkyMiles? Just make a wish for your checked luggage to be a little late.

Recently, Vivian Tu, known as Your Rich BFF on social media, shared a valuable piece of information for frequent Delta flyers who find themselves waiting at baggage claim.

Tu explained, “If you’re traveling any time soon and you’re worried that Delta’s going to take forever to get you your bag once again, you’re going to want to watch this.” With her background as a trader at JP Morgan and as a sales partner for Buzzfeed, she noted this could be the “easiest 2,500 points of your life.”

She elaborated, “If your checked bag does not arrive at the carousel within 20 minutes or less of your domestic flight arriving, you’re eligible to receive 2,500 bonus miles.” To claim these miles, you simply need to search for ‘Delta 20 minute baggage’ online and complete the required form on their website no later than 3 days after your flight’s arrival.

Additionally, for convenience, click here for direct access to the necessary information.

According to Delta, “We’re committed to providing you with reliable and on-time baggage service every time you fly.” They also mention, “If your checked bag doesn’t arrive at the carousel in 20 minutes or less after any domestic flight, you are eligible to receive 2,500 bonus miles.”

However, to take advantage of this offer, travelers need to be SkyMiles members. Fortunately, membership is free and easy to obtain.

It’s important to note that the bonus miles apply only to domestic flights within the U.S. and Puerto Rico, specifically for flights operated by Delta and Delta Connection carriers.

Moreover, travelers are limited to one request per passenger, regardless of how many checked bags were delayed. Delta will verify the timing, as it specifies that the “time to baggage claim will be as measured by Delta’s baggage tracking system, where available.”

Lastly, be aware that oversized and overweight baggage, as well as special items, are not eligible, so equipment like surfboards and golf bags will not qualify.
