Denmark Reopens for Fully Vaccinated Travelers
Denmark has officially reopened its borders to fully vaccinated American and British travelers, as announced by the country’s tourism marketing organization, VisitDenmark, on June 4.
Vaccination Requirements
To be recognized as fully vaccinated, travelers must have received the final dose of a European Medicines Agency–approved vaccine at least 14 days before arrival. The vaccines authorized by the EMA include:
- Moderna
- Vaxzevria (also known as Astra Zeneca)
- Vaccine Janssen
- Comirnaty
- Johnson and Johnson
- Pfizer
Entry Guidelines
Moreover, fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test or isolate upon arrival in Denmark. However, unvaccinated children traveling with vaccinated individuals, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, must present a negative PCR test taken no more than four days before their arrival.
Health Pass Requirements
Danish citizens are required to have a corona passport to prove vaccination status, previous infection, or a negative test result within the past 72 hours. Though discussions have been held regarding similar requirements for all international travelers, no new protocols have been officially announced yet.
European Travel Climate
The relaxation of Denmark’s restrictions coincides with the easing of travel limitations in other European countries, such as Greece, France, and Spain, all of which are welcoming travelers this summer.
