Discover Denver’s New Hotel Transformation of a Stunning 1880s Mansion

1. Denver’s Hotel Scene

Denver’s hotel scene is as eclectic as the city itself, offering travelers distinct and often uncommon experiences. The city is set to welcome a one-of-a-kind property in early 2023 housed in a historic 1880s mansion, catering to those looking for unique accommodations.

2. Urban Cowboy Hotel

Urban Cowboy, known for its design and community-driven hospitality, will open its Denver outpost in the George Schleier Mansion. This National Register of Historic Places-listed building will be transformed into an 18-room boutique hotel featuring a two-story restaurant and bar, enhancing the local landscape of beautiful properties.

3. Architectural Design

The striking mansion, designed by Denver architect Frank Edbrooke, showcases Colorado sandstone in the ornate Queen Anne style. While it will retain its original façade and distinctive architectural features—like gargoyles and Bavarian swans—the interiors are set to reflect a cowboy-inspired aesthetic. Contemporary fixtures alongside decorative items sourced from Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado will create a unique vibe reminiscent of the authentic rustic charm found in the Centennial State.

The mansion will also feature a two-story carriage house transformed into a restaurant/bar with a lounge and event space. The beverage program will be led by Urban Cowboy’s Nashville beverage director, showcasing delicious pizzas from Brooklyn’s iconic Roberta’s Pizza, craft cocktails, and a carefully curated list of wines.
