1. Overview of the Diamond Bridge
The spectacular landmark dangles over Tsalka Canyon, about two hours west of the capital of Tbilisi.
2. The Unique Attraction
There’s a diamond in the sky over the country of Georgia — in the form of a glass bar suspended from a bridge dangling about 900 feet above the Tsalka Canyon (also known as Dashbashi Canyon). This spectacular attraction, which opened in 2022, features a remarkable 787-foot-long Diamond Bridge. The Georgian-Israeli investment firm Kass Group backed this project, which aims to blend modern tourist infrastructure with the natural beauty of the region.
3. Guinness World Record Aspirations
The glass bar, which has several levels, is positioned at the highest point of the bridge. There are plans to submit this landmark to the Guinness World Records, hoping to be certified as the highest suspended restaurant from a bridge. The expectations are high, and this could place the Diamond Bridge alongside other global marvels.
4. Features of the Bridge
The bridge is not only visually stunning but also includes various attractions. Guests can enjoy:
- A thrilling zip line experience.
- Cliff swings for an adrenaline rush.
- Laser light shows visible from the visitors’ center and the restaurant.
5. Natural Beauty and Hiking Opportunities
The transparent structure allows visitors to gain new perspectives of the Dashbashi Canyon Natural Monument. This area features the Ktsia (Khrami) River winding through volcanic rocks, spectacular waterfalls, and rich wildlife. According to Georgia’s Agency of Protected Areas, the plants of the steep canyon slopes create a unique micro-landscape.
6. Hiking Trails
Visitors to the park can also explore a mile-long trail leading from the visitor center to a picturesque waterfall. This short hike typically takes about an hour, making it a perfect adventure for nature enthusiasts.
7. Future Developments
While there are currently no accommodations nearby, Dashbashi village in Tsalka is just a five-minute drive away. The Diamond Bridge is part of a larger initiative by Kass Group, aiming to establish a Tsalka Canyon nature reserve to boost local tourism. Plans are underway for an exclusive resort featuring 100 premium units, swimming pools, camping areas, and more.
