1. Introduction to Pixar Place Hotel

Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel will officially open on Jan. 30, 2024, as announced by the company to iBestTravel. Initially revealed in 2022, this property represents a complete transformation of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. The seaside-themed hotel resort will be infused with elements from beloved franchises such as “Toy Story,” woven throughout its grounds and guest rooms.

2. Decor and Design Features

“Pixar Place Hotel will evoke the inspiration and humor that goes into every Pixar film while celebrating the artistic process,” a Disney Parks Blog post shared. “Showcasing early sketches to the finished design, the art and decor will highlight vibrant Pixar stories, revealing some never-before-seen artwork.”

Once the transformation is complete, guests will enter a whimsical lobby featuring a larger-than-life version of the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball. High above, visitors will observe an elaborate mobile depicting the early stages of Pixar filmmaking, illustrating how animators create character designs with basic shapes and colors. These characters symbolize the beginning of their journey, mirroring the story guests embark upon at the Disneyland Resort.

Reimagined guest rooms will feature a full retheming, incorporating beloved Pixar characters throughout the design, from the bedding to furniture, including Pixar Ball-inspired pillows. Contemporary in style, rooms will display artwork created by the animation studio’s artists. Concept art from classic films, such as “Toy Story 3” and “The Incredibles,” will be included on the headboards, arranged from warm to cool colors, thereby emphasizing the importance of color in setting a scene.

3. Dining Options at Pixar Place Hotel

The flagship restaurant, Great Maple, is set to open in November before the complete reimagination is finalized. This modern American eatery will serve “upscale comfort food” for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring scratch-made dishes including buttermilk fried chicken, maple bacon doughnuts, and soda pop-braised baby back ribs.

Following the launch of Great Maple, a new coffee shop named Sketch Pad Cafe will also open in the lobby, accompanied by an all-new menu at the hotel’s rooftop pool bar, Small Bytes.

4. Guest Amenities and Perks

Visitors can currently enjoy the rooftop Pixar Pool, as well as a new “Finding Nemo”-themed splash pad and pool area named Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, along with Pixar-themed fire pits. A new play court and additional pool bar are expected to debut later this fall.

Adjacent to the main lobby, STOR-E will function as the hotel’s reimagined gift shop, presenting Pixar-themed merchandise along with classic Disneyland Resort finds. A newly expanded fitness center recently opened, complete with a sprawling mural inspired by Pixar’s “Monsters University,” depicting Mike and Sulley engaging in fitness activities.
