Enjoy Your Favorite Airline Snacks at Home
Airline snacks are among the most anticipated treats during flights. Nevertheless, due to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are missing our beloved in-flight delicacies. Fortunately, fans of United’s stroopwafel or JetBlue’s snack pack can now indulge in these delights from the comfort of their homes.
The JetBlue snack boxes can be ordered from Imperfect Foods, an initiative dedicated to reducing food waste and supporting farmers and food suppliers by redistributing surplus goods. As a result of this collaboration, they are offering a selection from Emmi Roth’s popular cheeses, accompanied by crackers, almonds, and dried cherries at reduced prices compared to what is typically found on airlines.
As stated by Imperfect Foods, “Since airlines, restaurants, cafeterias, and other large food suppliers have been left unexpectedly with vast supplies, we’ve seen increasing demand from businesses to find homes for their excess products. This particular supplier has been a valued partner in the past, assisting us in moving surplus cheeses. They reached out to us with extra snack trays originally prepared for airline customers.”
The loyalty of stroopwafel enthusiasts served on United Airlines is remarkable; they expressed their displeasure on social media when, in 2018, the Dutch waffles were temporarily substituted for another snack. Currently, United has partnered with Daelmans to provide a 15% discount on home delivery stroopwafels, and has even shared recipes for delightful treats such as banana bread and ice cream sandwiches that can be recreated at home.
