Discover Europe’s Latest Night Train Connecting Majestic Cities

Driven by a blend of romanticism, climate consciousness, and a desire for slow travel, night trains are gaining popularity across Europe. This trend reflects a growing desire among travelers for sustainable travel options that allow them to enjoy scenic views and experience the journey as part of the adventure.

Recent months have seen notable expansions in overnight train services, including the introduction of the Night Jet service connecting Munich, Germany, to La Spezia, Italy—positioning travelers within touching distance of the scenic Cinque Terre through a short connection. Additionally, a Euronight train now runs from Zürich to Zagreb, while the European Sleeper service links Brussels to Berlin, offering a convenient connection to London via the Eurostar.

New Developments: Good Night Train to Prague

Moreover, the European Sleeper service, popularly known as the “Good Night Train,” is broadening its reach by extending its Brussels to Berlin route to include Prague, starting next month. This extension is set to enhance the travel experience for individuals seeking to explore the rich culture of Czechia’s capital.

Itinerary Details

The Good Night Train will operate three times a week, currently stopping in Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Berlin. The new extension will add stops in Dresden, Saxon Switzerland, and the UNESCO Heritage Elbe Valley before culminating in Prague. The entire journey is slated to take 15 hours, departing Brussels at 7:22 PM and arriving in Prague at 10:56 AM the following day.

If you’re considering a weekend getaway in Prague from London, this route provides a seamless travel experience. European Sleeper has aligned its schedules with Eurostar, allowing passengers from London to easily transfer to the Good Night Train in Brussels and proceed to either Berlin or Prague.

Therefore, travelers can board a Eurostar train in St Pancras on Friday afternoon, departing at 3:30 PM, then switch trains in Brussels at 6:04 PM. The changeover is well-timed, with the Good Night Train departing at 7:22 PM. Passengers can enjoy their breakfast on board and wake up in Prague on Saturday morning, refreshed and ready to explore.

Pricing Information

Prices for this exciting travel experience will start at €99 (£85) for seats and €109 (£93) for couchettes if departing on a Monday. For those planning to travel on a Friday, prices begin at €139 (£119) for seats and €159 (£136) for couchettes. Unfortunately, the Sleeper cabin option is no longer available.

In addition, travelers can use Interrail passes on European Sleeper services, allowing them to include this journey as part of a broader European rail adventure.

Onboard Experience

During a recent experience testing the Good Night Train’s Brussels to Berlin route, the onboard offerings were found reasonably priced, and the train exceeded expectations in comfort and amenities. However, previous travelers have suggested packing earplugs for a peaceful ride.

Operational Commencement

The new Brussels to Prague service will launch on March 25. This expansion represents an exciting opportunity for travelers eager to explore new destinations while enjoying the comforts of overnight rail travel.

In conclusion, the Good Night Train emerges as an excellent option for eco-conscious travelers looking to experience the joys of train travel through Europe, with Prague being a captivating new destination on offer.
