New European Overnight Train Launches in May with Exciting Route to Barcelona

New Train Travel Experience Across Europe: European Sleeper

Traveling by train across Europe just got even dreamier with another route announced by a new rail company set to make their debut this spring.

European Sleeper, which will launch service from Berlin to Brussels in May, has recently partnered with the European Union to also introduce a service connecting Amsterdam and Barcelona.

New Rail Route by European Sleeper

With the mission to develop “a nicer and smarter way to travel within Europe,” European Sleeper’s “Goodnight Train” is set to launch on May 25, 2023, providing direct service from Berlin to Brussels. The train will include stops in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and other prominent cities along the route. A future expansion will extend to Dresden and Prague in 2024, enhancing connectivity across regions.

Service Launch Details

The inaugural journey will emphasize comfort, with a variety of travel options available. Notably, travelers can expect a mix of luxurious sleeping compartments and more budget-friendly seating arrangements, accommodating diverse preferences and budgets.

Ticket Pricing and Options

Tickets for the launch trip and additional summer services will be available starting February 20. The train offers a range of accommodations, including:

  • Sleeping compartment for a single person starting at €159
  • Single seat in a shared six-person compartment costing €49

Thus, travelers can select options that best fit their needs while enjoying the scenic views of Europe.

Future Expansion of Services

European Sleeper previously announced their plans to launch in 2022; however, they encountered financing challenges for rolling stock and its availability, as indicated by industry reports. The current roadmap and schedule signaling a stable launch suggest a positive turn of events for the rail company.

The Vision for Rail Travel in Europe

For international travelers, the rail service across Europe has always been a flexible and reliable means to explore multiple nations quickly. Looking ahead, the European Union has ambitious plans to double high-speed rail traffic by 2030 and triple it by 2050, as highlighted in a December 2021 government report accessible here. Consequently, traveling by train is poised to become an even more significant aspect of European tourism.
