On December 15, Thompson Hotels will unveil its first property in Atlanta, situated in the upscale neighborhood of Buckhead. The Thompson Buckhead is designed by renowned architects Rule Joy Trammell Rubio with interiors crafted by Studio 11 Design. This sleek, 10-story building predominantly features glass windows arranged in a contemporary rectilinear pattern. However, the ground floor presents a more sinuous design, evoking a midcentury vibe.

Elegant Interiors and Accommodations

The design aesthetics transition into the interiors, where an ambiance of Southern romanticism merges seamlessly with the sharp, sophisticated style characteristic of Thompson hotels. The hotel boasts 201 rooms, each showcasing chevron-patterned wood floors, marble mosaics, and local artwork. Furthermore, warm area rugs complement a color palette of earthy neutrals alongside bold jewel tones. Each room is appointed with luxurious details, including Sferra linens and exclusive toiletries from D.S. & Durga, a Brooklyn-based perfumery. The standout accommodation is the expansive 1,048-square-foot Thompson Suite, featuring a glass-enclosed dining room and a lavish master bath equipped with a steam shower and soaking tub, creating a spa-like experience.

Indulgent Amenities

Public spaces elevate the guest experience, featuring a rooftop pool with private cabanas, alongside the ground-floor Italian restaurant, Dirty Rascal, helmed by James Beard Award-nominated chef Todd Ginsberg. More importantly, the Thompson Buckhead will also house an exclusive indoor-outdoor lounge named Tesserae, designed for networking, dining, and social events. This private membership club targets Atlanta’s most distinguished thought-leaders and creators, ensuring an elite atmosphere. While membership is invite-only, guests residing in the Thompson Buckhead’s suites and ninth-floor rooms will enjoy access to this luxurious space. Although the hotel opens in December, Tesserae will make its debut in early 2022.
