Broken Beach Nusa Penida: What To Expect

Broken Beach, also referred to as Pasih Uug, is a mesmerizing circular bay nestled within cliff rocks, ingeniously shaped by waves over countless years. The bay is adorned with turquoise waters and a small white sandy beach; although visitors cannot descend to the beach, the view from above is indeed spectacular!

Local legends whisper that this remarkable formation was either created by giant footsteps or an angry sorcerer.

This unique natural structure is reminiscent of similar formations found worldwide. For instance, Isla Marietas in Mexico boasts a ‘Hidden Beach,’ while Italy is home to the stunning Grotta della Poesia. Additionally, the Benagil Cave in Algarve, Portugal, shares visual similarities when viewed from an aerial perspective.

As you stroll around Broken Beach, numerous perspectives of the rugged coastline and boats embarking on snorkeling tours invite admiration. However, exercise caution near the cliff’s edge, as the drop can be more significant than it appears. For those with drones, this location offers ample open space and awe-inspiring views of both the coastline and the enchanting horseshoe-shaped bay.

Moreover, this area showcases manta rays, providing a good chance to spot these majestic creatures gliding through the nearby waters.
