Where To Stay In Nusa Penida
Explore Lumangan Beach
The hike to Lumangan Beach is brief and straightforward, taking only about 5 minutes. After parking your vehicle, a short path leads you down a grassy ravine, revealing a hidden beach with stunning turquoise waters.
The highlight of this location is the massive sea cave, which measures approximately 50 meters deep. Unfortunately, it is currently facing an environmental challenge with litter, including plastic bottles washed ashore. Visitors are encouraged to bring bags to help remove some of this trash, contributing positively to the local environment.
The waters near the beach are shallow, allowing visitors to wade to the cave even during high tide. During low tide, tide pools form, providing perfect spots to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings.
Entrance Fees
As of 2024, access to Lumangan Beach is free, with no parking or entry fees required.
Getting To Lumangan Beach
Lumangan Beach is situated on the west side of Nusa Penida island. It is reachable by car or scooter, approximately a one-hour drive from the main docks and accommodations in northern Penida. Caution is advised when traveling by scooter due to rough road conditions in certain areas.

Accommodation Recommendations
During our stay, we chose Saren Villa on the north coast of Nusa Penida, where we paid 240k Rupiah ($15 USD) for a private double room, complete with air conditioning, hot shower, and reliable Wi-Fi.
