Explore the Luxurious New Suites of the Royal Scotsman

Experience Luxury on the Royal Scotsman Train

It doesn’t get much more romantic than weaving through the heather-covered, loch-pocked lands of the Scottish Highlands on the UK’s most storied trains. The Royal Scotsman is hailed as one of the most sophisticated ways to explore Scotland, offering five-star culinary experiences in its dining car, exquisite Martinis in the observation carriage, and even an entire carriage dedicated to relaxation at the Dior spa.

New Grand Suites: Redefining Luxury

In June 2024, the legendary train is stepping up its game by introducing two new Grand Suites. These luxurious accommodations are even more spacious and decadently designed than the previous offerings. They reflect the mesmerizing Scottish landscape that whizzes past the train’s windows. Dark wooden panelling and stone accents utilize local materials, while hues of green, grey, and blue seamlessly bring the outdoors inside.

Design Inspiration Rooted in Heritage

The design inspirations go beyond aesthetics; they pay tribute to Scottish history and craftsmanship. The spacious living area features a Scottish larch dining table and an armchair handcrafted from driftwood, reminiscent of the traditional “Orkney Chair.” Moreover, a tartan sofa highlights the picturesque scenery, with double lines representing train tracks and an impressive 37 threads each symbolizing a year of the train’s Highland route.

All-Inclusive Experiences Await

Prices for a two-night stay in a Grand Suite start at £6,000 per person. This all-inclusive package features private transfers to and from hotels or airports, alongside one spa treatment per person at the Dior Spa, which launched in May 2023. Onboard, guests can indulge in communal dinners, soak up live entertainment, or partake in various Highland activities such as wild swimming, foraging, whisky tastings, and castle visits. This experience encapsulates a perfect blend of adventure and luxury, making it an unforgettable journey through Scotland’s stunning landscapes.
