Free Things to Do in Times Square

1. Sit on the Red Staircase at the TKTS booth

Located in Father Duffy Square, the red bleachers are a cornerstone attraction in Times Square. The 27 ruby red steps rise 16 feet above Times Square, creating an excellent spot to take in the neon lights and billboards and to gaze down the Great White Way.

Fun fact: The Times Square area is legally required to display illuminated signs. Look out for well-known billboards such as The ABC Supersign or the enormous NASDAQ and Thomson Reuters signs that illuminate the area.
