Overview
Seaplane Experience
If you’re feeling a little blue about summer’s end, it’s time to plan an autumn weekend getaway to enjoy the fall foliage, and The Lake House on Canandaigua has the perfect itinerary for you.
Through November this year, the luxurious lake resort in New York’s Finger Lakes region is partnering with Tropic Ocean Airways to fly guests from New York City directly to the property. The 226-mile flight takes about 90 minutes and is undoubtedly the easiest way to travel upstate. Simply board the flight at New York Skyports Seaplane base on East 23rd Street, take off on the East River, and land right on Canandaigua Lake. The seaplanes can accommodate up to eight guests along with luggage and are pet-friendly.
Wellness and Relaxation
Upon arrival at the Lake House on Canandaigua, the focus shifts to rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. The 124-room resort offers wellness amenities at the Willowbrook Spa, featuring a range of services from massages and sauna rituals to yoga classes and stretch sessions. There is also a year-round heated pool and hot tub for additional relaxation. If you’re interested in something unique, try the Whiskey and Wood Burning program, available throughout the week during afternoons.
Dining Options
Dining at The Lake House is a delightful experience, with coffee and pastries offered in The Library each morning or a seated breakfast (or Sunday brunch) at the elegant Rose Tavern. This New American restaurant serves lunch and dinner, emphasizing local ingredients to create a fresh and seasonal menu.
Explore Canandaigua
In addition to the resort’s offerings, there is plenty to explore off the property. The Lake House on Canandaigua is located in downtown Canandaigua, where visitors can discover the Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park, along with the Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum. A bit further afield lies a vibrant area filled with breweries, wineries, and distilleries, as well as picturesque nature spots perfect for fall hikes.
