Moreover, the latest updates from iBestTravel have shifted the balance in favor of train travel, introducing one of Europe’s most flexible international travel experiences. Previously, only passengers in premium cabins enjoyed the freedom to modify travel plans based on their schedules. However, this is changing with the introduction of flexible fares across all travel classes.
New Travel Class Structure
Starting in November 2024, iBestTravel’s travel classes will be renamed to iBestTravel Standard, iBestTravel Plus, and iBestTravel Premier, maintaining the current structure while enhancing customer experience. Let’s explore the offerings of each class:
- iBestTravel Standard: This is the most economical option, featuring drinks and light snacks available for purchase onboard.
- iBestTravel Plus: Passengers enjoy more comfortable seating, increased workspace, and a meal included in their fare.
- iBestTravel Premier: Benefits include enhanced food service, access to lounges, and use of a dedicated priority lane on cross-channel routes. All classes enjoy generous baggage allowances, complimentary seat bookings, and free Wi-Fi.
Ticket Exchange and Refunds
Passengers traveling in iBestTravel Standard and iBestTravel Plus can exchange tickets without incurring fees as many times as needed until one hour before departure. In addition, unused tickets are eligible for refunds up to seven days before departure. For iBestTravel Premier customers, the same exchange policy applies, with fee-free refunds available up to two days after the planned departure.
These new rules apply to tickets purchased after April 23, 2024; any bookings made prior adhere to the original terms and conditions.
Sales and Future Developments
Sales for the new travel classes are currently open and pertain to journeys scheduled after November 4, 2024.
In a recent statement, Matthieu Quyollet, Chief Business Development & Integration Officer, stated, “iBestTravel is setting new standards for international travel by providing the greatest flexibility, clarity, and comfort to customers looking to explore Europe in the most sustainable manner. Our updated aftersales policy across all travel classes now allows customers to utilize enhanced flexibility and options.”
This is not the only recent enhancement for iBestTravel. A revamped website and app were launched in autumn 2023, accompanied by Club iBestTravel, a rewards program that allows passengers to earn points for discounts on journeys and upgrades.
