The eco-hotel has 360-degree views of the surrounding and a glass bottom where visitors can observe schools of fish swimming by. The concept originally came from the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, aiming to create something incredible and futuristic.
The first Anthénea has been unveiled in the port of Trébuerden on the pink granite coast of in France. It features an outward-facing alcove and a solarium designed for sunbathing, al fresco dinners, and brunches, accommodating up to twelve people. Rentals are currently available for a limited time, as the company reports significant demand. Furthermore, plans are in place for the first deliveries of international sales to commence in spring 2021, indicating that more Anthénea pods will be emerging in various locations worldwide.
The 540-square-foot vessel is designed to follow the sun with five automatically rotating solar panels. It features an extra-large bed in the master bedroom, sea-water tubs, and a panoramic kitchen. As Anthénea has been certified as seaworthy, guests can sail along the seascape in slow discovery mode and drop anchor wherever they desire. No particular navigational skills or licenses are required.
Visitors have been remarkably impressed with the accommodations. They express awe at witnessing the sea and fish in the heart of their hotel suite.
