Go Ape, a treetop forest adventure company, has opened its first location in the U.S. at Rock Creek Regional Park’s Lake Needwood in Rockville, MD. Spanning a length of more than seven football fields and with obstacles 40 feet above the ground, the Go Ape course features a series of zip lines, Tarzan swings, rope ladders, bridges, swings, and trapezes among the treetops.
The Go Ape in Rockville, MD was the first in the United States. There are currently 16 courses across the country in VA, CT, DE, IL, IN, KT, MS, MO, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, and TX. The company is continuing to expand.
To participate, you must be at least 10 years old and stand 4 feet, 7 inches tall. An instructor provides a 30-minute training session before allowing you to swing through the trees at your own pace. The course comprises 5 sections, taking approximately 2 to 3 hours to complete.
