Grand Canyon Railway Prepares for the Festive Season
We may still be technically in summer, but The Grand Canyon Railway is already preparing for the festive season.
Polar Express Dates
The Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel announced the return dates for its beloved Polar Express train. The holiday train will make its official return to the tracks on Nov. 10, 2023, with rides offered through Dec. 30, 2023. Like in previous years, the family-friendly 90-minute, round-trip rides will run between Williams, Arizona, to the “North Pole” almost every night at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. MST.
Experience the Magic
The family-friendly train follows the classic storyline of the children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg. Onboard, guests can enjoy hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies while listening to holiday music. Moreover, a reading of the book is part of the experience. At the end of the ride, children and the young-at-heart will get an exclusive meeting with Santa Claus and his reindeer, who will distribute a commemorative jingle bell to everyone on his nice list.
Guests have the option to ride the railway independently or select the Polar Express Package, which includes overnight accommodations at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, along with breakfast and dinner at the Fred Harvey Restaurant.
Ticket Pricing
Single train tickets are available for evening departures Sunday through Thursday, starting at $39 for kids aged 2 to 15 and $58 for adults. Tickets for Friday and Saturday departures are priced at $53 for children and $70 for adults. Additionally, the railway’s special Christmas Eve Limited starts at $97 for adults and $67 for children, which includes collectible souvenirs. Guests wanting to stay overnight may consider the Express Package for two adults and two children starting at $410.
Charter Your Own Train
For an even more memorable experience, consider gathering a group to charter your own train, complete with luxury railroad cars anytime during the season. Pricing is available upon request, allowing congregations to create unique holiday memories.
