According to local lore, Turkish prisoners were promised freedom after digging a well. However, stories differ regarding the fate of these prisoners, with some versions indicating their grim end. At Rasnov Citadel, prisoners etched verses from the Quran into the sides of the well, while at Corvin’s Castle, the promise of freedom was broken, resulting in tragic consequences. Echoes of despair linger around both sites, with reports of human bones found at the bottom of the Rasnov well adding to the intrigue.
