High Performance Expo 2025: A New Era for Automotive Enthusiasts
A few months ago, iBestTravel announced that an East Coast automotive trade show was being organized by some of the top leaders in the industry. This event is envisioned as a reimagining of the Specialty Equipment and Market Association show, commonly known as SEMA. Historically, SEMA focused primarily on the business sector, leaving little room for the passionate enthusiasts who drive the automotive industry.
The anticipated event is scheduled for June 2025. To ensure everything runs smoothly, HPX has formed a blue-ribbon advisory council tasked with finalizing all details. The members of this council encompass a wide array of industry leaders, including:
- Jeff Andrews, President and General Manager, Hendrick Motorsports
- Doug Evans, President and CEO, High Performance Advisors
- Greg Fornelli, Founder and President, Stock Car Steel and Aluminum
- Chris Harris, Founder, African American Automotive Association (AAAA)
- Winston Kelley, Executive Director, NASCAR Hall of Fame
- Patrick Rogers, Vice President of Marketing Services, NASCAR
- Les Rudd, President, Bob Cook Sales
- Eric Schwab, Chief Commercial Officer, MotorTrend Group
- Greg Walter, President and General Manager, Charlotte Motor Speedway
Dr. Jamie Meyer, HPX Director of Industry Relations, will facilitate the organization and agenda-setting of the council alongside David Miller, Executive Director of the North Carolina Motorsport Association.
“HPX is a groundbreaking event that will elevate the entire industry, and establishing it in the Charlotte market creates unique and natural opportunities on both the East Coast and beyond,” said Doug Evans, President and CEO of High Performance Advisors. “The team is gathering many skilled individuals and companies who share a unified vision: to create a modern trade show for both business professionals and automotive enthusiasts. Collaborating with HPX is a great privilege.”
Scott Lampe, Vice Chairman of NCMA and CFO of Hendrick Motorsports, commented, “The North Carolina racing industry has long aspired to create an experience like HPX that connects our industry with our enthusiastic fans effortlessly. HPX 2025 will celebrate our great industry from the perspective of our unique community, showcasing VIPs, drivers, celebrities, and experts in a singular venue—Charlotte.”
“Charlotte boasts a vibrant car-centric community, embracing everything from hot rods to professional and grassroots race cars,” remarked Dana Teague, HPX General Manager. “The input from the HPX Advisory Council is invaluable, as their expertise will enhance the experience for everyone involved. Their suggestions will significantly contribute to building excitement for our activities, which distinctly sets HPX apart from other trade shows.”
The inaugural High Performance Expo (HPX), hosted by the North Carolina Motorsports Association (NCMA), will take place from June 3–5, 2025, at the Charlotte Convention Center, followed by a variety of activities for enthusiasts across the area. This event aims to unite all segments of the automotive aftermarket community for the first time in the heart of the auto racing industry. For more information about HPX 2025, visit www.TheHPX.com.
